A new year, a new you with Ibbott&Co
There is always plenty to smile about at Christmas and the new year. But if you would like a smile that will last for longer or want to improve your confidence, Ibbott&Co Dental Practice has some great ideas to help you enjoy a new you in 2019.
Teeth Whitening
Whether you want to boost your career prospects for the coming year, look your best for a big day or simply feel happier on a daily basis, teeth whitening is a simple, safe and cost-effective way to transform your smile and more importantly improve your confidence. Within a short amount of time, your smile can be given a transforming boost.
At Ibbott&Co Dental Practice, we offer a home whitening treatment that is closely monitored by one of our qualified dentists, so you can rest assured you are in safe hands. At your first appointment, we will discuss the treatment process in detail and make sure you are fully aware of what is involved and what results you can expect.
If you’ve been struggling with missing teeth, dental implants might be the perfect solution. Dental implants are a highly successful solution to replace one or more missing teeth permanently. A dental implant is made of three parts: the implant, the abutment and the crown. The implant is a titanium screw which is placed into the jawbone. After this is healed, the abutment will be fitted which will hold the crown in place.
Dental implants are designed to look completely natural, meaning it will look no different to the rest of your teeth. Your replacement tooth will be strong and hard wearing, lasting you for a lifetime if you look after it well.
Dental implants are more than just replacement teeth – they can also:
- Boost your confidence
- Improve your smile
- Stop premature aging of the face
- Make sure bone loss doesn’t occur
- Stop other teeth from changing position
Here at Ibbott&Co, we have a highly experienced team comprising Mr John Tighe, who has a great many years of experience working as a consultant surgeon within the NHS and private sector and Mr Chris Ibbott, who has been restoring patients mouths using dental implants for over 15 years. Along with the support of our passionate and dedicated hygiene team, Victoria and Heather, we feel we are very well placed to deliver and maintain a very high standard of implant care.
Adult Orthodontics
Another way you could transform your smile in 2019 is adult orthodontics. Orthodontics refers to the process of moving teeth into a better position and is ideal if you have crowded teeth or gaps in between teeth. There is no real age limit for orthodontics so in most cases as long as your teeth and gums are healthy they can be straightened.
At Ibbott&Co Dental Practice we offer a wide range of modern orthodontic treatments including the highly popular and in-demand Invisalign system to move the teeth – resulting in quicker and more comfortable treatment times.
As well as Invisalign, our range of adult orthodontic options also includes the Inman Aligner, clear aligners, ceramic fixed braces, Damon/Insignia fixed braces and invisible/lingual fixed braces. The choice of technique will vary depending on each patient’s unique needs as well as budget, but we are confident that with priced starting from as low as £1800, we can help you to get the smile you desire.
If you’ve been suffering from a chipped, worn, discoloured or misshapen tooth, you could be smiling again in 2019 thanks to a new veneer. A veneer is a thin slice of porcelain or tooth-coloured composite that is made to fit precisely over the front surface of a tooth. They are bonded to the tooth and are very strong and durable. The fitting process of veneers often requires very little tooth reduction or damage.
Although they are used much less now than in the past due to the wide range of cosmetic dentistry options now available, porcelain veneers remain a good option to consider when there is discolouration or irregularities within the surface enamel.
An attractive alternative to veneers that we prefer here at Ibbott&Co is composite bonding, a non-invasive cosmetic dental treatment in which tooth-coloured composite material is applied to the surface of the tooth and moulded to suit the desired shape. We use this treatment to change the shape of the teeth, make them thinner, wider, longer and to close small gaps.
The finish of this treatment blends perfectly into your natural teeth. We tend to use composite bonding as an alternative to veneers as the teeth aren’t damaged in any way.
