Frequently Asked Questions

How can I register with your practice?

Please call or email our friendly front-of-house team, who will send you a welcome email with everything that you need to know. There are a couple of forms to complete online, and once we have received these, you can book your first appointment with us. This first appointment is called a Comprehensive Assessment and will be with one of our dentists. We will need to take the appointment fee in full at the time of booking.

Do you offer direct access to a hygienist?

We do welcome patients to visit us for hygiene maintenance only.

However, your first hygiene appointment would need to be a full gum health assessment with one of our fantastic dental therapists.

Are you taking on NHS patients?

We are a fully private practice and, therefore, do not have an NHS contract.

We do, however, offer a membership plan to help you budget for your dental care.

I need to cancel my appointment, what should I do?

Please telephone front of house at your earliest opportunity. We require no less than 3 working days’ notice for an appointment of under one hour and 5 working days’ notice for an appointment of more than an hour.

We understand that our patients lead busy lives, however, like all dental practices we operate an appointment system. We reserve the right to charge for missed appointments and late cancellations. Missed appointments will be charged at the full rate of the estimate.

Will the same clinician complete all aspects of my treatment?

We work as a team at Ibbott and Co. and often refer in-house for specific treatments to utilize our clinicians’ time optimally.

For example, you may see a dentist different from the one that you see for your dental health assessments if you need root canal treatment. Additionally, our highly qualified dental therapists have a broad scope of practice and may complete fillings.

Do you have onsite parking?

We are situated on Wadhurst High Street, so we do not have parking onsite. However, there are two free car parks only a short walk away- one behind the Greyhound public house and another behind One Stop.

Accessible parking is available at both of these car parks

On-road parking is also available on the high street, along with an accessible space outside of ‘La Petite France Café

Please bear in mind that during peak times, you may need to allow yourself a little extra time to park.

Can I book an appointment online?

If you are already a patient with us, you can book your routine dental health assessments and hygiene maintenance appointments through your online patient portal.

If you are a new patient interested in a free cosmetic consultation with our Treatment Co-Ordinator, then this can also be booked online CLICK HERE

Can I have tooth whitening if I am not a registered patient?

Tooth whitening can only be prescribed by a dentist. If you have not seen us before, then the dentist will need to complete a full comprehensive assessment to ensure that you are a suitable candidate.

We therefore ask that you follow the new patient booking procedure.

Do you offer Invisalign?

We are a Gold Level Invisalign provider.

Do you offer finance options to pay for treatment?

Yes, we are able to offer interest-free finance over a 12-month period for the majority of our high-value treatments.

If finance is available for your treatment, this can be discussed with our treatment Co-Ordinator.

I’m not registered with you but have a toothache- can you help?

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to see patients who are not registered with us for emergencies, especially as these often need urgent attention.

If you have a dental concern and would like to join the practice, then please follow our new patient booking procedure, highlighting any issues at the time of booking.

A suitable treatment plan will then be made for you at your Comprehensive Assessment.

Can I have my hygiene maintenance at the same visit as my dental health assessment?

We believe prevention is the best cure and, therefore, ask patients to spread their dental and hygiene appointments throughout the year. This means that your mouth is assessed for change more regularly.

Logistically, our dental and hygiene books do not run alongside each other due to the complex and varying lengths of the treatments that we offer.

I have previously registered with you but have not seen you for over 2 years, can I book a dental health assessment?

Your oral health can change a lot in two years, and if you have not been seen for a period of time, then a dental health assessment may take longer than usual.

For this reason, we ask that you book a Comprehensive Assessment and follow the new patient booking procedure.

Do you see children?

We are happy to see children under 5 free of charge, providing they have a parent who is registered with us and attends regularly.

We ask that children between the ages of 5 and 18 join our nurture plan, as this is the most cost-effective way of ensuring your child is seen routinely. Children who do not join the plan are charged at the full rate.

Will I receive appointment reminders?

Yes. Providing that we have your correct email address and mobile number, you will receive reminders via email and text of your upcoming appointments one week before we are due to see you.

You will also be notified if your routine appointments are overdue. We recommend booking your next appointment before you leave the last.
