Marcus’ teeth timeline
One of our patients, Marcus, has had his fair share of visits to Ibbott&Co Dental Practice recently. This followed decades of avoiding the dentist for check-ups and treatment.
Marcus has kindly put together a timeline of his dental history to show just how much his teeth have improved since he has been coming to see us.
1959
The year I was born.
1968
This was the last time I had physical work done on my teeth for almost 40 years.
2009
After my family were constantly nagging me for many years, I decided to go for a dental check-up. Despite me preparing the dentist about my aversion to the dental trade and me being a quivering wreck on the day, I felt there was no effort to alleviate my fears. I was told that my teeth were a mess and much work was needed.
I never returned to any dentist until I went to Ibbott&Co Dental Practice looking for help.
9th November 2017
This was the day my luck run out. Due to excessive use of plastic tooth picks, my lower front tooth broke off just above the root. At this point, I knew I had to visit a dentist.
10th November 2017
I have a family friend that was a dentist and she suggested that I go to see Dr Chris Ibbott at Ibott&Co Dental Practice. They had an appointment available for me within an hour. I knew there was no time to back out.
It was obvious the moment I walked through the door that this was somewhere that is not only used to people having problems with their teeth, but they genuinely wanted to help as much as possible. Even so, I was still in a ‘bad’ place.
13th November 2017
This was my next visit to the dentist. I had teeth checks, x-rays, impressions taken for a bridge and my broken tooth glued back in for vanity sake until my new tooth was ready. At this point, I was ready to go away and not come back as my new/old tooth, once put back in, felt the most comfortable my mouth had in 40 years.
21st November 2017
More impressions were taken for my bridge.
29th November 2017
I had two injections, two teeth extracted and my bridge fitted.
5th December 2017
I had more injections to enable my tooth to be rebuilt and have a filling. It looked like a new tooth!
11th December 2017
More injections… This time for another rebuild of a tooth.
18th December 2017
Finally, my dental work was coming to an end with another tooth extraction and a rebuild of a tooth.
“I can honestly say that at no point during my treatment process did I experience any discomfort or pain, during or after treatment. The effort made by everyone at the practice to make me feel at ease made the whole experience less scary. They made sure I knew what was going to happen at all times.
I cannot thank Dr Chris Ibbott enough. At the ripe old age of 58, I finally have a pain free and tidy mouth.
I have never written a review about anything before but I felt I had to in this instance. For anyone, whatever age, with the slightest concerns about visiting a dentist, you must visit Ibbott&Co. You have my word.”
