What makes Enlighten tooth whitening so effective?

Enlighten guarantees the gel they provide is refrigerated from the time it is manufactured, during transportation and storage to the dental clinic. It is then kept refrigerated until you take it home. This keeps it very fresh and, as a result, very effective. The kit includes digitally designed, custom trays for a perfect seal and comes with its own toothpaste to control sensitivity.

How does it work

Gel is placed in the custom trays and worn as prescribed. The gel breaks down stain molecules in the teeth by a process called oxidation, making the teeth appear lighter.

Who can legally offer tooth whitening?

Tooth whitening is a form of dentistry and can only be carried out by a dentist or a dental hygienist/therapist under the prescription of a dentist. Some beauty salons offer tooth whitening, but this is ILLEGAL and may be putting your oral health at risk.

How long does it take?

In the vast majority of cases (95%), 3 weeks. In 5% of patients with very dark teeth, it may take longer. This will always be discussed from the outset.

Is it safe?

Yes. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we would recommend you delay until after. It is important to see a dental professional before doing tooth whitening so that your teeth and gums can be checked. Buying gel off the internet is very risky, as it may be too strong and burn your mouth or be an unlicensed product. Don’t take risks with your health.

How comfortable is it?

We give you Enlighten tooth serum, a fantastic product to use for a week before starting the tooth whitening, which prepares the teeth and reduces sensitivity. The trays are soft and very comfortable to wear.

Will my fillings change colour?

No. Tooth whitening only alters the colour of natural teeth. This is why it is very important to see a dental professional so that this can be discussed at the start of a course of treatment, so that you end up with an even result. Sometimes a filling or a crown on a front tooth may need to be replaced after the tooth whitening, so that it matches your new white teeth. This can be highlighted, and any costs involved can be discussed before starting the treatment.

What is Boutique whitening?

How does it work?

Is it suitable for everyone?

Boutique is great for younger teeth that have thicker enamel. For teeth that are darker or more worn down, Enlighten will give a more predictable result.

I am so pleased to have moved to Ibbott & Co Dental clinic. They are always very friendly and professional. I have been very happy with any work that I’ve had done and the care and support they offer afterwards.They are also great with children. Both of my children were a little unsure about dentist visits initially, but they are made to feel comfortable and relaxed and the dentist always explains everything to them in an easy to understand way. I think the tv on the ceiling is an added bonus for them too!

Invisalign Treatment Feb 2024 - May 2025. The entire process was seamless and easy. Pricing is fair and transparent. As a slightly nervous patient, I was reassured, everything was explained, any questions I had (often quite a few!) were answered. Expectations on treatment timelines were realistic. The team are friendly, approachable and always so helpful. My treatment was entirely pain free, I would go as far as saying the process was enjoyable!Additional - I had the option to start my treatment a month earlier than originally planned, I chose not to do so purely because I was nervous. Chris and his team have made me not hate going to the dentist.He recently re-did the bonding I had done after a childhood accident. I’ve been seeing Chris, Janet and their team for many years, and I can’t recommend them enough. From routine check-ups and cleanings to helping with wisdom teeth issues and fillings, they’ve consistently provided outstanding care. Chris and the team at Ibbott & Co are amazing. I was always conscious of my front teeth which were crooked and crossed over along with a variety of other dental problems. I also suffer with very sensitive nerves so was a bit anxious about having any work done but Chris made me feel totally at ease and I can honestly say - it was an almost painless experience having extensive dental work done to my upper jaw. Chris and the team here are truly fantastic!From the moment I made a telephone enquiry (thanks Yasmin) I felt that I was in caring, professional hands. After a preliminary discussion with the wonderful Billie (treatment co-ordinator), and a comprehensive assessment with Chris, he then carried out cosmetic bonding on 3 teeth which completely smoothed 2 chipped teeth and hid 1 black triangle.Chris also removed white spot lesion on a front tooth which had begun to cause me some social anxiety. I am thrilled with the results and cannot thank Ibbott & Co enough.Throughout the process they listened to me, answered lots of questions, and gave me all the time I needed to ensure we achieved the right results.Prior to finding Chris, I had met 3 other dentists (for the same same enquiry) but did not get the right vibe or feeling of care from them. I was more than happy to complete a 60 mile round journey to visit Ibbott & Co for each appointment. That's how highly I rate them!Thoroughly recommend and would never think of going elsewhere should I require dentistry expertise again.

There is state of the art digital technology and scanning facilities on site. I joined Ibbott & Co in January with a view to changing my 2 front crowns which I'd had for over 15 years. After a thorough examination and an in depth consultation with Chris, we decided to change the crowns, and also add 2 veneers and some bonded resin to enhance my smile.I'm over the moon with the final result! So pleased with my experience so far. Had a few complications because my teeth have been so difficult, but it got resolved so quickly, and the options I got given to work around what I thought would be impossible were outstanding. I am nearly at the end of my treatment (invisilign, whitening and bonding) and I cannot wait for my final result. I was on a time limit for my wedding and only had 7 months.
